The Weekender

Another week has already flown by! Here are my favorites from the past seven days—

ONE // TRX
via Pinterest

I have posted about my fitness routine a few times, but I haven't written too much on the strength component of my workouts (my recent post on stretching here). Lately, I have been trying out TRX suspension training, which involves using your own body weight and two suspended straps to build strength in the entire body. When I first started, I absolutely hated it because it was so difficult. However, I have noticed some pretty astounding results, in both how I look and feel. I would definitely recommend trying this out (with the help of an instructor, of course) if you're looking for a challenging and effective new workout!

TWO // Sheet Masks
via Pinterest

Sheet masks are one of the more recent trends in the beauty world, and the product really took off after Sephora launched their own line of affordable single-use masks. I will post a more comprehensive review of some sheet masks I've been trying, but in a few words, my initial reaction to the product is positive. While the slimy, messy texture takes some getting used to, I've found the masks very effective, especially when it comes to exfoliating skin for a healthy glow. Shop Sephora's collection here

THREE // Freakonomics
via Pinterest

I am definitely late posting about this intriguing book, but I am in the middle of reading it and absolutely love it. I like reading a non-page-turner before I go to bed, and this is the perfect mix of interesting economic facts and applicable explanations of the logic behind many every day situations.

FOUR // Bucket Bag
via Pinterest

Mansur Gavriel has taken the fashion industry by storm with their perfectly structured bucket bags. I absolutely love this black and ballerina pink bag. When they're finally in stock at Barney's I will be the first to investigate in person!

FIVE // Snow in the Northeast
via Pinterest

As a California girl who attends college in the Northeast, one of the bigger adjustments I had to make was dealing with more extreme weather. Everyone has been talking about the recent snow back East, and these pictures from the Atlantic explain just how much snow we're talking about.

xoxo,
Ashley
