DIY Sweet Valentine's Day Cards

Unless you live under a rock, you probably know that next weekend is Valentine's Day. There is really nothing like celebrating a holiday devoted to all the best things in life— chocolate, flowers and... Netflix. But before you dive into a Gilmore Girls marathon, spread some love with these DIY cards for your sweetie or gal pal.

I made these cards with some help from Paper Source— shop the supplies here. Happy hearts day!

ONE // "Love You More Card"

This is is one of the cards I heat-embossed. To do this, I used a water mark ink pad (check it out here) with a rubber stamp and pressed the freshly inked stamp onto hot pink paper. I covered the stamped letters in gold embossing powder (seen here) and shook off excess. Then I used a heat embosser to give the design a glossy look.

Doilies are a Valentine's Day staple. For a modern twist on the classic material, mix a gold doily with a chic striped or polka dotted paper. Another tip— check out this tool to make your own envelope liners like my gold polka dot one. Using some gift wrap paper to create a light liner adds a finished look.

THREE // Glittery Happy Valentine's Day Card

This was probably my favorite card to make— and so easy. Make any geometric design using Washi tape, which is specifically made for craft projects (it is a thin, flexible material). I made glittery stripes by taping lines of sparkle Washi tape on cream paper— to cute! Shop it here.

FOUR // Heart of Gold Card

This card involved a little bit of origami, which I don't know if I could do on my own, but I loved making the banner and writing on it with white gel pen. I loved gel pens when I was a little kid and love this chic use for a childhood favorite. Find gel pens here

xoxo,
Ashley
