The Weekender

TGIF, readers! Here's my weekly favorites round up—

ONE || Weleda's Skin Food

via Weleda USA
After reading this article on Refinery 29, I was itching to test out this miracle skin salve. I spotted a small tube at my local Whole Foods and placed it in my basket on my way to check out— I was not disappointed! I use this all over my body and face! It is a very thick balm, which is perfect for dry patches of skin, although it doesn't block pores. One or two times per week I use this in place of my normal moisturizer as a kind of overnight mask while I sleep. This is the best treat for rough elbows and tired feet, plus it is super-affordable. Buy it here.

TWO || The Long Bob
via Pinterest
This week, I made yet another big chop to my hair, and now have a long bob. I was a little freaked out at first since it was a bigger change than I normally make, but now I love it (I also love it in a low ponytail!). I looked to Alexa Chung for some bedhead inspiration to keep my short hair looking fresh. Check out my hair inspiration Pinterest board here.

THREE || "Americanah" by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
via Amazon
I just started reading "Americanah," and I absolutely love it. The discussion of racial identity is so relevant right now, plus after reading this glowing NY Times review of the book, I was so eager to read it. I'll post a full review on the blog once I'm finished. Order the book here.

FOUR || Jo Malone Blackberry and Bay Cologne

via Nordstrom
I definitely have a little bit of an addiction when it comes to Jo Malone fragrances. For almost a year, I only wore Peony and Blush Suede, but this year I've been mixing in some new scents like Wood Sage and Sea Salt and a new favorite, Blackberry and Bay Cologne. This is a more unisex scent than Peony and Blush Suede, with woody and sweet notes that wears so nicely on skin throughout the day. Shop it here.

FIVE || Lululemon Wunder Under Pants
via lululemon
As I've been getting more and more into personal fitness (a post on that to come!), I've been investing in a few more workout pieces. Lululemon wunder under pants are my favorite for all types of exercise— from yoga to running. They maintain their shape for at least a couple of years, and the adorable-printed bands feature hidden pockets to store keys or headphones during your sweat session. Find them here.

Happy long weekend!
xoxo,
Ashley
