Candles

Happy Saturday, readers! Today I'm sharing some of my favorite candles. A few years ago, one of my close friends gave me an adorable mini Baies candle from Diptyque, starting my love affair with these chic little jars of wax and wick. A beautiful, luxury candle is certainly a treat that many people don't buy themselves regularly, so they make a great gift for a friend or yourself for really any occasion. Below, I've listed a few candle-making companies and specific scents that I've enjoyed over the past few years.

Pommes Frites Candle Company (favorite scent: Sweet Grapefruit; buy it here for $20)— I'd read a few blog posts about PF Candle Co products, but I honestly didn't love these candles until I smelled them in person at Urban Outfitters. The packaging is simple and rustic, making it great for both men and women (for a more traditionally masculine scent, sniff the Amber & Moss).

Jo Malone London (favorite scent: Peony & Blush Suede; buy it here for $65)— I have curated quite the collection of Jo Malone products over the last few years, and finally added a candle to my vanity tray during the holidays. The packaging is absolutely gorgeous, and I will definitely repurpose the jar to display flowers or accessories after I've finished burning the fragrance.

Nest Fragrances (favorite scent: Beach; buy it here for $40)— My mom recently purchased a Nest diffuser and so many people asked her what the amazing fragrance was. I think she chose a grapefruit based scent, which is amazing, but my favorite Nest candle is in Beach, which actually smells like the seaside. It is the perfect pick-me-up on a cold winter day!

Diptyque (favorite scent: Baies; buy it here for $60 and limited edition Rosafolia; buy it here for $65)—Diptyque candles are a classic, luxury gift due to their beautiful scents and packaging. This Valentine's Day, the company released Rosafolia, a combination of Turkish rose and geranium, in an absolutely gorgeous painted ceramic jar. While this was an exciting new purchase, I will never stray from my all time favorite Baies candle, which features rose and blackcurrant notes. I think I'll always have a soft spot for this scent, which reminds me of my room at home.

Anthropologie Candles (favorite scent: Volcano; buy it here for $28)— Anthropologie's Volcano scent is so delicious, it almost smells like sherbet! The mixture of citrus and floral is surprisingly addictive, and luckily the candles are pretty large for their price (24 oz for $28!). Another feature I love is that the same scent comes in many different containers and sizes, so be sure to mix and match for a beautiful arrangement.

Baxter of California (favorite scent: White Wood Number Two, buy it here for $55)— Baxter is actually a men's line, even marketing their candles as masculine scents. While White Wood isn't a fruity floral, I think the woody notes— including bergamot, mandarin and mission fig— are unisex and sophisticated (also the brand's face masks are great for everyone).

xoxo,
Ashley
