Summer Skincare & SPF

I love the summertime weather here in the northeast. Despite the sticky humidity, my skin seems to love it too. Between the sunshine and the moisture, my skin is really looking better than ever. Finally I can walk outside wearing nothing but tinted moisturizer and some eye make up! Concealer is gone, as are the blemishes I was getting during the cold and dry winter months.

I have really streamlined my skincare routine too, using a few products that target the specific issues my skin has and will prevent new issues (read: wrinkles) from developing.

I start out with a gentle cleanser and make sure to wash everything from the top of my forehead to my décolletage. Then, I move on to a serum. In the morning I use a corrective serum packed with antioxidants and vitamin c to heal breakouts and prevent scarring. At night, I use a great smelling oil that hydrates my skin and adds lots of vitamins. I then use eye cream at night (it's never too early to start!) and a mild moisturizer all day.

While my moisturizer sets in, I apply lotion all over my body and then move to the most important part of my routine: SPF.  I use SPF 50+ all over. You need about the amount of a golf ball/shot glass to cover everything. I also use a tinter moisturizer on my face with SPF for added protection against winkles, scarring and more seriously, cancer. Then, I'm set for the day!

xoxo
