In terms of beauty, I've been loving philosophy's Fresh Cream line, especially the body wash and lotion. They smell both musky and sweet, a grown up and less sicky-sweet version of my high school perfume (yikes...).
I also discovered Aveeno's ultra-calming make up remover wipes for face and eye make up. They even take off waterproof mascara. I use them every night before I wash my face. Speaking of which, I just picked up yet another bottle of my all time favorite Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cleanser (the best!!).
To keep my brushes clean, I use beautyblender's solid cleanser. It works wonders on the beautyblender sponge as well as makeup brushes of all kinds.
And if you've been able to get your hands on it, Bumble and Bumble's Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Primer is my hair care holy grail these days. It smells incredible: sweet and fresh and also makes hair super shiny while protecting it from heat and UV damage. No wonder this product has been flying off shelves.
I also enjoyed shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (ends August 4), and picked up the Bobbi Brown Nude on Nude Palette as well as Tory Burch's Eloise Leather Riding Boots. The eye palette is full of high quality colors ranging from matte finishes to sheens to glitters. This is one of the first palettes I've bought where I can see myself using every single color. In fact, I've already tried most of them out! As for the boots, I bought the dark brown color, which is perfect for fall (I'll be in London!). I can't wait to start wearing them.
I did some room redecorating earlier this month, and picked up a lot of accessories from the Anthropologie Home store, including a candle that looks just as good as it smells. I also picked up a few silver storage jars perfect for organizing bobby pins and hair elastics and this cute ceramic clock.
I've been wearing a lot of skirts this month, my favorite being vibrant pink from French Connection. Paired with a tank top or short sleeve blouse, these look pulled together while keeping my cool in the crazy humidity in the Northeast.
I will be posting a new playlist soon, which reminds me of the new Bose QuietComfort Earbuds my mom gave me recently. They are great for working out and studying, and are less bulky that the traditional QuietComfort Headphones (which I also like).
A promise I made to myself during the month of July was drinking more water. I have definitely been really good about this and have noticed a dramatic change in my energy level. In fact, I find myself drinking significantly less coffee when I'm well hydrated and I also am not as hungry all the time (according to this article, drinking water curbs appetite). And in the heat, there is nothing more important than SPF and staying hydrated!
xoxo
