TGIF, It's The Weekender

TGIF, readers! I hope you enjoy this week's edition of "The Weekender," my weekly favorites roundup (think of an upgraded "Required Reading" from the days of my old blog). It has finally been getting a bit chilly in California this week, so I've spent a lot of time indulging in my favorite cozy things.

I've only recently realized just how much I love a nice, long bubble bath. My recipe for the perfect sudsy experience includes Laura Mercier's Ambre Vanille Bath & Body Luxe Quartet. I use the Ambre Vanille Honey Bath while I read and put on a face mask, and then I shower after (ugh, drought, I know, but I don't do this very often!). During the shower I use the Ambre Vanille Body Scrub, and follow it up after with the Ambre Vanille Souffle Body Creme and Ambre Vanille Body Mist. The scent is sweet and light— I've never smelled a product quite so good!

I have fallen back in love with Pinterest this week, especially while planning my gift guide posts. You can follow me here: http://www.pinterest.com/couturistblog/. My favorite pins this week include this recipe for garlic, lemon and parmesan roasted brussels sprouts, this ultimate guide to primers, this guide to pairing and downloading fonts for the holidays and this inspiring quote about beauty.

'Tis the season for the shopper. No, I'm not talking about your shopping habits, I am referencing your need for a bigger tote bag to haul around your essentials for a day full of holiday errands. While crossbodys are the perfect accessory for dinner or heading to a party, I have been loving these big bags during the day. My picks are Valentino's Rockstud Shopping Tote, Madewell's Zip Transport ToteAlexander McQueen's Legend Medium Leather Tote Bag, Tory Burch's York Small Saffiano Tote Bag and J.Crew's Downing Tote (a classic!).

via The Atlantic

This week The Atlantic had some great articles. "Brain on Architecture" was a great read, especially after I took architecture classes while studying abroad in Italy. These videos and photos of ballerinas preparing for a performance reminded me of my 15-year stint as a dancer from elementary through high school. I always love reading about millennials' lifestyle choices, so "Why Aren't Millennials Saving Money?" was really interesting. Finally, this article about clique formation in high schools was fascinating— I went to two very different high schools and think the findings presented make a lot of sense.
