November Favorites

I love writing favorites posts. It is always nice to wrap up the month with a recap of the things I've been loving. Here are my November picks:

Fashion Favorites
I usually gravitate toward neutrals (read: black), and this month has been no exception. I've tried to play with texture a little (notice the leather, velvet and silk?) and finally bit the bullet and bought a new pair of black skinny ankle jeans from Rag + Bone. I am officially obsessed! I love pairing them with my black and tortoise Ferragamo slippers, an oversized Madewell sweater or Joie heart-print blouse. If I'm not in the mood for pants, I opt for my new favorite Theory leather and jersey skirt. It is the perfect combination of form fitting and flattering. Now that things are getting chilly, I've finally broken out the puffy jackets. My favorite pick for style and warmth? Moncler. These jackets are simply the best to invest in for the coldest of winters! I top my look off with a scarf usually, and have been turning to a shimmery taupe wool scarf from AllSaints.

Beauty Favorites
There has been a lot of turnover on my vanity this month. First up is skincare, I tried out the Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Peel Original Formula exfoliating pads. A combination of glycolic acid and retinol layered under my moisturizer before bed leaves me with flowing, spot free skin the next morning. I also adore Kate Somerville's Cyto Cell Anti-Age eye cream. I have a lot of eye cream samples (thanks, Sephora) so I change up my eye cream often. This has been the best I've used by far. For make up, I combine Perricone's No Blush Blush (so natural) and Benefit's Girl Meets Pearl for naturally flushed, glowing skin every day. Paired with Laura Mercier's Lip Gloss in Baby Doll, I have natural, glowy makeup all day.  I've also transitioned into darker nail colors (#goth) and adore Deborah' Lippmann's deep green shade, Billionaire. In terms of bath time, I have been loving Laura Mercier's Ambre Vanille Bubble Bath as well as Bumble & Bumble's Super Rich conditioner. My hair and skin end up glowing when I use these. After, I spritz myself with Jo Malone's Wood Sage & Sea Salt, a new fragrance out this year. I love it!

Everything Else

What else have I been loving? From wearing my hair up in a loose bun to committing to break a sweat every day, November has been full of healthy changes. I have spent a lot of time cooking at home and focusing on eating nutritious meals as well as sleeping 8-10 (okay, sometimes 11) hours every night. My days are full of long gym workouts, outdoor hikes and running holiday errands. My evenings are spent taking long relaxing bubble baths, spending time with my family and most often reading. I read everything— fashion magazines, the newspaper, meditations, cookbooks, new novels and nonfiction. I have probably never taken such good care of my mind or body! The best part? I can see and feel a difference. My skin has almost completely cleared up for the first time in about a year, I no longer have trouble falling asleep due to my mind racing, my arms are starting to look more toned than ever and I feel great about what I'm putting into my body. Here's to a December full of equally good choices!

What are your November favorites?
xoxo,
Ashley

P.S. A BIG shoutout to my not-so-little brother on his 19th birthday!
