11 Pieces that Make me Excited for Fall

1. Black ballet flats: What girl doesn't love a chic pair of black ballet flats, especially paired with black pants or tights? Nothing makes legs look longer! They're also very comfortable for running errands.

2. Wool coats: I love statement coats in the fall, especially cozy wool-lined ones! They spice any outfit up, and also dry quickly while keeping you warm if they get wet.

3. Leather gloves: Leather gloves are the epitome of chic. Fall weather isn't cold enough yet where I need to break out my waterproof mittens (yikes), but my hands still get a little cold, especially at night.

4. Cashmere scarves: Cashmere in any form is so warm and luxurious. Worn in a neutral pattern as a scarf, the cozy material will keep the chills away.

5. Tights: People have told me that tights are hard to pull off. I'll do a more detailed post on this later, but black tights paired with flats are the ultimate safe and flattering combo that allow you to wear dresses and skirts well into Fall and even winter.

6. Dark tinted nail polish: In the fall, I love wearing shades of plum, hunter green and charcoal. They are neutral enough to go with almost anything, but are a welcome change of pace from my normal totally nude nails. Just make sure they remain chip-free as dark polishes show chips easily.

7. Bucket bags: This classic drawstring shape always looks best in a dark, fall leather to me. This is also a big trend this year (Gucci, Fendi and Prada have all made versions!), and I love how much I can fit into them.

8. Leather skirts: For some reason, all of the men in my life think my love of leather skirts, jackets, dresses and boots is very edgy (ha), but I love a pleated leather skirt in the fall paired with tights and flats. It is such an interesting material, and is also surprisingly warm.

9. Umbrellas: I have recently found myself looking for a sturdy umbrella (one too many folding umbrellas has broken on me in a storm), and love traditional umbrellas with a nice wood handle and wind blocking material.

10. Ankle boots: Another way I like wearing tights is with black ankle boots. A little heel lengthens your legs while still looking casual and being super comfortable.

11. Cable knit: Until I started shopping at rag & bone, I couldn't find a cable knit that really looked good on me. Now, I love cream and grey wool cable knits. They're classic and very warm.

xoxo
