In the Glow: Fresh Spring Makeup

Hi Couturist readers! A couple of weeks ago I shared my guide to getting your skin squeaky clean for springtime, so I created this post as a follow up featuring a few new finds that will enhance your luminous complexion as we step into spring. Enjoy!

1. Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Luminous Blush in Snapdragon ($34): I'm a longtime fan and purchaser of Becca's Shimmering Skin Perfector products, but am especially impressed with their newest line of blushes. These blushes are extremely subtle— hardly noticeable on their own, like a sheen over a brighter matte blush— making this product ideal for warming up your complexion.

2.  Dior Addict Milky Tint in Milky Pop ($35): While the name might suggest a bit of a runny, chalky product, Dior Addict's Milky Tint lip gloss delivers a moisturizing pastel pigment to lips for eight hours. While I don't think the color lasted quite that long, my dry lips felt quenched all day and looked better than ever.

3.  Tom Ford Cream and Powder Eye Color in Golden Peach ($60): This two-tiered palette provides color in two different textures, powder and cream, to create a multi-dimensional eyeshadow look. The cream formula features an intense metallic pigment, whereas the powder acts as more of a light shimmer that can be worn on its own or to intensify the cream shadow. While the duo is expensive, it is absolutely gorgeous upon application and the textures are more versatile than you might imagine.

4. Kari Gran Color Lip Whip in Radiant Orchid ($20): I first tried Kari Gran's Lip Whip when I impulse bought it while in line to check out at a Sephora (ugh, I'm guilty too). However, upon swiping the cinnamon-y balm onto my lips I fell instantly in love with the texture and ultra-moisturizing formula. Now, Kari Gran has added a pop of pigment to her products by creating a wearable, hydrating, organic formula that delivers results you can both see and feel. I want to purchase every shade!

5. Bobbi Brown Telluride Eye Palette ($52): Bobbi's Telluride Eye Palette is decidedly warmer than a lot of her recent powers (think the greige/ grey beige thing she was doing for awhile) which is not only great for spring, but especially flattering for those of us with light eyes. The terracotta and copper undertones featured in this product make blue and green eyes pop both day and night given the differing shadow finishes Bobbi has combined. As always, the palette comes with one of the only useful makeup applicators— Bobbi's signature dual ended brush that features a fluffy end for depositing a large color wash and a firm end for packing on pigment.

6. Ilia Illuminator in Polka Dots & Moonbeams ($34): I hadn't heard of Ilia before I saw this product on Sephora's website, but now I think they give illuminator giants like NARS and Becca a run for their money— Ilia's tiny illuminator deposits an ethereal glow wherever it is applied with the most minute shimmer particles I've ever seen. The sheen is actually undetectable!

7. Urban Decay Naked Skin Color Correcting Fluid in Green and Peach ($28): Urban Decay just rolled out a new line of Color Correcting Fluid concealors and they are awesome. There are five shades that each address a specific skincare concern— green (redness), yellow (dullness), peach (circles/spots), lavender (sallowness), pink (darkness). I've tried the green and the peach on different areas of my face and they work very well— the peach covers up dark circles very naturally, and the green conceals the broken capillaries around my nose and the redness on my chin. While they aren't necessarily the best value (compared to some color correcting palettes I've seen on the market), the formula is so creamy, hydrating and light that it just doesn't really compare as it is difficult to keep potted products from drying out for a long period of time. Would definitely recommend trying these out!
