Happy Monday and Happy New Year readers! Now that the holidays are officially over and we're all back to real life (yeah right), it is important to take a little time to for ourselves. A super cozy bubble bath can be the vacation we need during the chilly winter. I love taking a long bath at the end of the day and I take a little extra time setting up my sanctuary. Here are my favorite tips for soaking in all the benefits of a bubble bath:
1. Bathe at the end of the day— it helps you get a better sleep and unwind after a busy day. Plus, I like to shower in the morning since my goal is more to clean myself off rather than to relax.
2. Add some bubble bath to your hot water. My favorites are from philosophy and Laura Mercier. Try a relaxing vanilla scent!
3. Turn on a relaxing playlist. I've been loving the Head & the Heart's music lately for unwinding. It is so relaxing!
4. Apply a face or hair mask right when you get into the bath. It can soak in while you're relaxing and then you can wash it off right before you get out.
5. Use a scrub to get extra soft skin— this is also the perfect time to shave as your legs are more swollen at the end of the day.
6. Bring your favorite book with you and read (New Year's reading resolution??).
7. Burn a relaxing candle. I've been obsessed with PF Candle Company's Sweet Grapefruit and the more luxe Diptyque Baies candle.
8. Rinse off before you get out. I like to shower off to make sure no irritating bubble bath is left on my skin.
9. Apply a body oil or lotion when you get out of the back.
10. Drink some tea once you get out of the bath— this will continue the relaxation even after you get out of the tub.
Here are my picks for sudsing up:
